Why Compass Point?

The number one question asked from our friends and family is “why compass point” for our name. There are two perspectives that contribute to our name, and this will explain one. The idea originated on a trip where there was not a coffee shop within walking distance during our stay in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The running joke of the week was let’s start a coffee shop. Little did we know that this would start a dream after sharing our thoughts with dear friends!

So why Compass Point? We did not want to merely start a business but do something we believed in while creating a business to enjoy running.

We are a partnership between two couples aspiring to create a business utilizing our diverse backgrounds and experiences. Both of our families were experiencing the twists and turns that only life can present as this idea originated, and the common theme was mental health. We tossed around numerous ideas for a name before settling on wanting to contribute to a space that is friendly and supportive to all, honoring our journey. A compass point keeps you moving in the right direction and that’s what we want to help provide with coffee to start the day and a pleasant business experience. Someday we’ll have the coffee shop to fulfil all our business dreams but for now we’re excited to travel in the right direction as this story unfolds.
